About the database:
Glass Eels Database is based on transcriptome data from three Anguillid eels as below.
The transcriptome of these three species are sequence by Illumina HiSeq 2000. In the database, contig sequence, fundamental annotation and KEGG pathway are included. The database is capable of being searched by keywords, contig ID and BLAST in single or across species. This website may provide important molecular information to study genomic, physiology and development of Anguillid eels.

Anguilla japonica, Japanese eel, is a temperate anguillid eel that is distributed in East Asia including Japan, Taiwan, China, Korea and northern Philippines. A. japonica is one of the most important economical species in Japan, Taiwan, China and Korea.

Anguilla marmorata is a tropical anguillid eel that is one of the widely distributed species among the anguillids. It is distributed throughout most of the tropical and sub-tropical Indo-Pacific and has multiple populations, with a much larger adult body size than other anguillids.
